Wakulla High School is the sole high school serving Wakulla County. It was built in 1967, when the county's population was below 6,000. As of the 2000 census there were 22,683 people who called Wakulla County home, and by 2012 that number had grown to 30,818. The 2015 WHS student body was 1370, according to the 2014-2015 SPARS report.
Throughout the years, Wakulla High School has celebrated many remarkable achievements through academics, athletics and extra curricular activities. Our school has been recognized as one of Florida "A" high schools, the War Eagle football team has won State Championships and our WHS band continues to consistently bring home the highest awards in state competitions, just to name a few.
Wakulla High School lives its beliefs. In our academics, our athletics, and our clubs and other extracurricular activities, we have raised and maintain the expectation in and of our administration, our entire staff, and our students, that to be a Wakulla War Eagle means something special. This is a place where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and a place where that abstract whole infuses each of its concrete features with life and meaning.
