Testing Information

End of Course Exams

End of Course (EOCs) are computer-based exams given starting the end of April through the end of the school year.  Students enrolled in a class requiring an EOC will be required to the exam.  In the 2015-2016 school year, these exams include: Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Biology and US History.

Students are required to pass the Algebra I EOC in order to graduate.

You can take a look at a sample test for each End of Course Exam at the Pearson Access web site.

FSA ELA

The reading/ELA assessments students must pass to graduate with a standard high school diploma are determined by each student's year of enrollment in grade 9.  Beginning with students who enter grade 9 in 2014-2015 and beyond, students must pass the grade 10 FSA ELA.

Advanced Placement Testing (AP)

ASVAB

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test, administered by the United States Military Entrance Processing Command, used to determine qualification for enlistment in the United States armed forces. It is often offered to American high school students when they are in the 11th grade, though anyone eligible to and interested in enlisting can take it.

You must sign up in Guidance to take the test.

PSAT

The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is a multiple-choice standardized test administered by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States.

An estimated 1.3 million high school sophomores and juniors take the test each year. At WHS the PSAT is given to all students in grades 9-11.  The scores from the PSAT are used (with the permission of the student) to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program (11th graders only).

PSAT is offered In October
